Old Business

Repairs to Gunn Hwy. Wall – Barbara reported that she sent an e-mail to Perry Mallory (T-3 Construction) advising him that $50,000 had been approved by the Board for the Gunn Hwy. wall repair project (including County permit) and informing him of the wall sections under consideration. She also requested that he provide alternate recommendations for sections that may need repair sooner and emphasized that the project must be delayed if section replacement becomes necessary. However, Barbara did not receive any response from Mr. Mallory. Since the new fiscal year budget must be prepared for approval at the June public budget hearing (see below) and commitment of the $50,000 will impact budget preparation, Wendy agreed to call Mr. Mallory to inquire if he could provide information before the May Board meeting.

Note:  The following information from the March Board meeting minutes was not addressed at the April Board meeting, but it is being included here for information purposes only.

Five sections that were leaning 3 inches or more in 2018 are 19, 20, 40, and 41 (40 feet long) and 21 (4 feet long).  Also, there is a 7-foot section that needs to be considered.

New Business

Price Increase for Wix Platform for Beacon Meadows Website – Barbara reported that the cost for the platform increased from $14 per month ($168 per year) to $17 per month ($204 per year) for the “Light” plan, a $36 per year increase. The “Core” plan was recommended at $26 per month ($312 per year), but Barbara believes the “Light” plan will be sufficient for the website, since it is all informational. Wendy made a motion, seconded by Penny, that $17 per month ($204 per year) be approved for the platform.  The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0.

Approval of Date/Time for June Public Budget Hearing – Since the public budget hearing is fast approaching, Carol recommended that the date/time be approved during this meeting.  Wendy made a motion, seconded by Barbara, that the public budget hearing be scheduled for June 11, 2024 at 7:30 p.m., immediately following the June Board meeting, at Northdale Recreation Center, 15510 Hooting Owls Place, Tampa. The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0.  Barbara and Carol determined that the date the advertisement of the meeting must be published in a Wednesday Tampa Times Bulletin Board is May 15, 2024 in order for the 21-calendar day advertising requirement to be met.  Barbara will prepare the advertisement for submission to the Tampa Times and will advise Trustees of the cost.

There being no further business, Wendy made a motion, seconded by Carol, that the meeting be adjourned at 7:23 p.m. The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0.
