Be involved with your neighborhood !  The Board of Trustees need someone to fill a vacant slot. The county requires the board have a quorum of 5 of the possible 7 members to conduct business - the board currently had 6 members.

Things will get much worse in Beacon Meadows if the board can not operate due to lack of Trustees.

The ONLY requirement to be on the Board is that you are a registered voter at a Beacon Meadows address.  It helps that you care about your neighborhood, and can spare one hour a month.

The board meets at 7:00pm, the second Thursday of each month at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Meetings last approximately one hour.  Come to a meeting !

Who you gonna call ?
Do you live in Beacon Meadows and own your own business ? Would you like to generate some business close to home ?  Scan your business card or flyer and email it to beaconmeadows@gmail.com and it will be posted to this web site (if there is a positive reaction these 'ads' become a permanent feature).    Don't have a scanner ?  Contact the email address above for 'snail mail' instructions.

Wouldn't you rather have a neighbor work on your project or repair, rather than some stranger from the phone book ?  I would !

PARKING
 - Don't park on the grass.  It ruins the look of the yard, and it's a deed restriction violation.
 - Don't park near stop signs.  It's dangerous and illegal.
 - Don't park near a mailbox.  It's hazardous for postal carriers.
 - Don't park overnight in front of someone else's house, without their permission.  It's just rude and it makes it seem like you are hiding from someone.
 - Try to not park on the street at all on trash collection days. (Tuesday and Friday) .  Give the collection trucks a break !

Trees are Our Friends!
Trees are precious natural resources. Not only do they beautify our neighborhood, but they provide sorely needed shade in the hot Florida sun. Trees have also been found to play an important role in producing oxygen and reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, as well as moderating ground temperatures.
It is important for homeowners to be aware that Hillsborough County has restrictions on certain removal and trimming of trees on residential property and property that is in County right-of-ways, such as along the street side of sidewalks in residential areas. Stiff fines can be levied in some circumstances if permits or permission are not requested in advance.
For information or to report suspected unauthorized removal or trimming of trees in the community, call or e-mail (by clicking on the name) one of the following staff representatives in the County Planning & Growth Management Natural Resources Dept. at 272-5920.

Did you know ?

Hillsborough county requires a building permit for all storage sheds.  This is to ensure it meets building codes and is properly anchored to survive our often rough and windy weather.

Also remember permanent structures can not be within the easement that many of us have along the back of our properties, or too close to the property line.

If you are trying to sell your house - PLEASE do not sell it to someone who will rent it out by the room.  This is becoming a major Safety & Security issue in the subdivision, and through-out the county.
