Secretary's Report – The minutes of the January 2007 meeting were read by Trustees in advance. Carol made a motion, seconded by Barbara, to approve the minutes. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0.
Treasurer's Report – Copies of the Statement of Revenues and Expenditures for January 2007 were unavailable.
Carol reported that the signature authority for issuing Tax District checks has been updated and the address where bank statements are to be mailed has been changed.
Old Business
Light Fixtures at Entrance – One of the lights at the Casey Rd. entrance is still not working. The Beacon Meadows resident, an electrician with Falcon Electric, who Carol had asked to inspect the light fixture, had not yet done so. Carol inspected the light herself and is convinced that a new fixture is needed, especially one that is less obtrusive. She offered to bring examples of fixtures to the next Board meeting. In the meantime, she will install a portable light. Penny recommended that electrical contractors be contacted to provide options and estimates for replacing both fixtures. The following contractors, suggested by Trustees, will be contacted by Carol: Sheppard, Small Jobs, and Sparky. Chris will contact Mike Phillips, an electrician who has done work at Chris’ house.
Post Office Box - Currently there are no small post office boxes ($40.00 per year) available to rent at the Stall Rd Post Office. The next size post office box costs $72.00 per year. Therefore, Carol will continue to inquire until a small post office box becomes available.
Painting of Gunn Hwy. Wall - Dave Tillery has submitted a bit of $2,900 for labor to paint the wall. This does not include supplies (paint and caulk) and pressure washing. Pressure washing will cost between $1,000 and $1,500. Paint and caulk are estimated to cost less than $2,000. The total cost would be $5,900 - $6,400. Chris suggested that a bid for application of Tex Cote be requested. Tex Cote is more expensive than regualr paint but is much more resilient. Chris will ask Masterpiece Exteriors, who applied Tex Cote to his house, to submit a bit for the Gunn Hwy. wall and, if possible do a presentation about Tex Cote at the next Board Meeting.
New Business
Board Meeting Signs – Penny reported that Mike Spinelli, a Beacon Meadows resident, agreed to post the Casey Rd. sign before the monthly Board meetings. Barbara asked if the website address on the meeting signs could be changed to the new address. Carol agreed to contact Signs USA where the signs had been made to ask about the cost of correcting the website address.
Financial Audit – The financial audit for last fiscal year has been completed by David King, CPA. There were no audit criticisms and no corrections were required.
Renewal of Contract for Professional Services - The contract with David King, CPA, is up for renewal. The proposed three-year contract for fiscal year 2007, 2008, and 2009 is $950, $900, and $900 respectively. Carol remarked that Mr. King has been doing a good job on the Tax District’s audits. Penny made a motion, seconded by Barb, that the three-year contract with David King, CPA, be renewed at the amount specified. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0.
There being no further business, Penny made a motion, seconded by Carol, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0. The meeting was adjourned by Carol at 7:50 p.m.
