Old Business

Lawn Service Contract – Two bids were received for lawn service work for December 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007 as follows:

  • Jay’s Property Management (currently performing lawn service work for the Tax District) - $750.00 per month

  • Brian Nase Lawn & Landscape - $675.00 per month

The bids included inspection of and minor repairs to the irrigation systems and monthly spraying of herbicide and semi-annual mowing along the Jackson Rd. wall.

Carol had met with both contractors prior to the meeting to review their bids.  Both contractors attended the meeting to answer questions regarding their bids and the services they proposed to provide.

Penny pointed out that there was a $75.00 per month difference between the two bids.  Jay agreed to reduce his monthly fee to $700.00.  Since Jay’s Property Management has been doing a good job up to this point, Carol recommended that his bid be accepted, even though it was $25.00 per month higher.  Carol made a motion, seconded by Chris, that Jay’s Property Management be selected to perform lawn service work for Beacon Meadows for December 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007 for $700.00 per month.  The motion was approved by a vote of 5-0.

Beacon Meadows’ Website – Barbara Appel, the Tax District’s new webmaster, has made significant additions and enhancements to Beacon Meadows’ website, which is now located at the following website address:  beaconmeadows.org.  Trustees expressed their appreciation for Barb’s efforts.  Discussion ensued regarding how the website address could be publicized.  Carol offered to try to find a volunteer to make signs out of poster board to attach to the Tax District meeting signs.

Rental of Storage Unit – Carol reported that she is currently storing all of the Tax District’s documents and other items received from Le Bailey in the attic of her home. Discussion of storage unit rental was tabled until a future Board meeting.

New Business

Beacon Meadows Newsletter – Chris recommended that the Board pursue start up of another newsletter. Carol reported that the last editor had published one edition of the newsletter but could not find enough advertisers to pay for expenses. Chris indicated that he was aware of homeowners in Beacon Meadows who may be interested in advertising in the newsletter.  Discussion of another newsletter was tabled until a future Board meeting.

There being no further business, Carol made a motion, seconded by Penny, that the meeting be adjourned.  The motion was approved by a vote of 5-0.  The meeting was adjourned by Carol at 8:00 p.m.
